Standalone Alarm Panel with Google Home

Use Google Home's security-system controls with Standalone Alarm Panel after the integration is approved and released.

The direct Konnected integration for Standalone Alarm System is awaiting Google approval and is not yet generally available. This page will be updated with the final connection steps when the integration is released.

The upcoming integration connects the Konnected Standalone Alarm System directly to Google Home as a security-system device. It does not use the Alarm Panel Pro's experimental Matter firmware and does not require SmartThings as an intermediary.

The Standalone Alarm logic remains on the Konnected panel. Google Home provides another place to view and control the system after you link the direct integration.

Planned controls

Google Home's security-system model supports:

  • Viewing whether a security system is armed.
  • Arming at supported levels, such as Home or Away.
  • Disarming with any verification required by the integration.
  • Reporting when an open door, window, or other condition affects an arming request.

The exact modes, verification requirements, app screens, and voice wording available for Konnected will be confirmed when Google approves the integration.

Voice requests

Google Assistant uses a built-in security-system voice model. After the Konnected integration is released and linked, you will be able to use natural requests such as:

  • “Hey Google, arm Konnected Alarm to away.”
  • “Hey Google, arm Konnected Alarm to home.”
  • “Hey Google, is Konnected Alarm armed?”
  • “Hey Google, disarm Konnected Alarm.”

Use the device name and armed-mode names shown in Google Home. Google may ask you to confirm an open zone or complete a security check before carrying out a request.

Do not use these commands as setup verification until the direct Konnected integration is released. A security-system device must first appear in your Google Home app.

Set the Google Home voice PIN

Google Home requires a PIN before it will disarm the alarm by voice. In the Konnected Mobile App, open Cloud Integrations > Google Home > PIN and set the PIN you want to use. Google Assistant asks for this PIN when you request disarming.

Do not share the voice PIN or use a code that is easy to guess.

Matter is different

The experimental Matter firmware for Alarm Panel Pro can expose individual contact sensors and switches to a Matter controller, but it does not expose an alarm-system device. Installing Matter firmware is not the setup path for the direct Google Home Standalone Alarm integration.

Prepare your panel

While the integration is awaiting approval, you can complete the panel-side setup:

  1. Install current Konnected ESPHome firmware supported by your device.
  2. Configure the wired input and output zones in the Konnected Mobile App.
  3. Enable and configure Standalone Alarm System.
  4. Configure monitored zones, alarm responses, disarm behavior, and delays.
  5. Test the local alarm behavior with a currently supported control platform.
