Introduction to Konnected Cloud

Konnected Cloud is our free, optional cloud service that extends the power of your Konnected devices by connecting them to cloud-based smart home platforms like SmartThings and Amazon Alexa. Built on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and leveraging AWS IoT, Konnected Cloud provides a secure, real-time bridge between your Konnected hardware and the cloud platforms you already use.

100% Optional Cloud Integration

We believe in giving you choice. All Konnected devices work fully without Konnected Cloud, giving you complete local control if that’s what you prefer. Your devices do not connect to Konnected Cloud until you explicitly opt in through the Konnected mobile app.

For many users, this means:

  • Local-only option: Keep your smart home 100% independent of cloud services.

  • Cloud-enabled option: Seamlessly integrate with Alexa and SmartThings.

Secure by Design

Security is at the heart of Konnected Cloud. When you choose to use it, your devices connect securely using industry-standard best practices based on Amazon Web Services security guidelines and policies.

  • Encrypted communications between devices and cloud.

  • Account-bound authentication, so only you can manage your devices.

  • Secure provisioning through the Konnected app.

The Konnected App

The Konnected app is your gateway to Konnected Cloud. Through the app, you can:

  • Create your Konnected Cloud account.

  • Provision and register devices to securely connect to your account.

  • Manage connections to Alexa, SmartThings, and future integrations.

Build Customization Service

In addition to cloud connectivity, Konnected Cloud now powers our Build Customization Service. This service makes it easy to:

  • Customize firmware and device settings to your preferences.

  • Push updates to your devices securely over the network.

  • Access advanced features without needing technical expertise.
