Monitor, control and automate your garage door with Alexa and Konnected
Konnected's Smart Garage Door Opener works seamlessly with Amazon's Alexa, allowing you to use your garage door opener with Alexa voice commands and routines, and with Alexa-compatible apps and dashboards.
The Garage Door Opener connects to your home WiFi and communicates with Alexa via Konnected's free-to-use cloud service and Alexa skill.
Konnected's skill for Alexa is currently only available in countries with English as the primary language.
Setting up with Alexa
Set up and calibrate the Konnected Garage Door Opener using the Konnected mobile app. Follow the steps in the app to provision and register the Garage Door Opener in Konnected Cloud. Once complete, install the Konnected skill for Alexa:
- Open the Alexa app on your smartphone
- Tap More at the bottom right, then tap Skills & Games
- Search for the Konnected skill
- Tap Enable to Use
- Sign in to Konnected Cloud using the same email address and password as when you signed up in the Konnected app. Note: email addresses and passwords are case sensitive!
- If your Garage Door Opener is not automatically discovered, say "Alexa, discover devices" to manually trigger device discovery. If the skill is installed properly and your Garage Door opener is registered in Konnected's Cloud service, the Garage Door Opener device will appear in Alexa's devices list.
If you already have other Konnected devices linked to Alexa, your account is already linked and you do not need to complete these steps again. Your new Garage Door Opener will be discovered in Alexa automatically.
Naming the Garage Door Opener
By default, the device representing the garage door is named "Garage Door" in Alexa. Use this name in Alexa voice commands to query and control the garage door opener. If you have more than one garage door, or wish to change the name, you can rename the device in the Konnected mobile app and/or in the Alexa app.
We recommend renaming the device in the Konnected app, so that the default name will not overwrite the Alexa name the next time Alexa refreshes the device info.
Alexa Garage Door Utterances
Try the following voice commands to your Alexa device to interact with your smart garage door opener:
- Alexa, is the garage door open?
- Alexa, close the garage door.
- Alexa, open the garage door.
