Power
You can power the board through two different methods.
- DC pigtail - most will be able to draw power from AUX output on the old board. Use the supplied DC pigtail wired to the correct polarity to wire the board. In this way the Voltage Reference jumper should be in the Panel position.
- DC Power adapter - if you need additional power you can use a 12Vdc power adapter to power the board. If you do make sure the voltage reference is wired (see below) and the Voltage Reference jumper is in the Outlet position
Voltage Reference Jumper
This tells the board what type of power source you are using. If you are powering directly from the AUX output of your legacy panel the jumper should be set to "Panel". If you are powering your board from a 12VDC wall adapter the jumper should be set to "Outlet". NOTE: When powering from a wall outlet you will need to hook up the VRef terminals to your legacy alarm panel AUX terminals as outlined in the next section.
Vref
This is used to give the Interface Board a frame of reference when reading your legacy alarm panel sensors. It is not needed if you are powering your Interface board directly from the legacy alarm panel and have the Voltage Reference Jumper set to "Panel". Connect the jumper from Vref+ to the AUX+ and from Vref- to AUX-.
Zones
To wire the zones connect a jumper from the numbered zones on the Konnected Interface board to the Zone (positive) side of the legacy board. There is no need to remove any resistors. Make sure both sides are tight.
Tuning
With the board powered on and the zone jumpers and voltage reference (if needed) connected, gently turn the potentiometer tuning screw so that the light is on when the door/window is closed and the light is off when the door/widow is opened. If it is blinking/flickering turn it slightly to one side so it is solid or off (depending on the status of the zone).
Relay
To wire the relay, connect a jumper from the 5V Pin on the Interface board to the DC+ terminal on the relay, the G pin on the Interface board to the DC- terminal on the relay, and from the Out pin on the Interface board to the IN terminal on the relay. You can use this for the Key Switch functionality if your legacy alarm panel supports it.
