Using Disarm Codes with Standalone Alarm Panel
Require a numeric code to disarm the panel where your selected platform supports it.
Disarm codes are optional. If you do not add a code, a supported smart home platform can disarm the Standalone Alarm System without asking the panel to validate a code.
Add a disarm code
- Open the Konnected Mobile App and select your Alarm Panel.
- Tap Settings, then Standalone Alarm System.
- Find Disarm Codes and add one or more numeric codes.
- Save the settings and apply the firmware update when prompted.
After the update, the code requirement is part of the Standalone Alarm System running on that panel.
Test arming and disarming from every platform you plan to use before relying on the system. Home Assistant, SmartThings, and Alexa do not handle alarm codes in the same way.
Home Assistant
When you configure a disarm code, Home Assistant presents a keypad with the Standalone Alarm entity. Enter a valid code to disarm.
Home Assistant automations and dashboard cards can also send alarm-control-panel actions. Make sure the action you use supplies the code when your panel requires one.
SmartThings
SmartThings and the Standalone Alarm System handle security controls separately. A code configured on the Konnected panel does not create a matching SmartThings code or make code handling uniform between the two systems.
If you use SmartThings for daily control, test the SmartThings Konnected Alarm device after adding or changing a code. If SmartThings cannot disarm the panel, remove the Standalone code before relying on SmartThings for disarming, or contact Konnected Support for the current integration behavior.
Alexa
Do not configure a Standalone Alarm disarm code if you want to disarm with Alexa. The Konnected Alexa integration does not pass the panel's configured PIN for validation.
Instead, enable disarming in the Alexa app and create an Alexa voice code. Alexa asks for that voice code when you request disarming by voice.
Your Alexa voice code is configured and validated by Alexa. It is separate from the codes in the Konnected Mobile App.
Change or remove a code
Return to Settings > Standalone Alarm System > Disarm Codes, make the change, then save and apply the new firmware build. Test the updated code from your control platform before you finish.
