Standalone Alarm Panel with SmartThings

Arm and disarm the local Standalone Alarm System from SmartThings.

The SmartThings integration adds a Konnected Alarm device. Its security-mode control represents the system's armed or disarmed state and supports Armed Away, Armed Stay/Home, and Disarmed. SmartThings does not support Armed Night mode for this device. When the alarm is triggered, its panic-alarm control reports Panic.

SmartThings connects through Konnected Cloud, while the Standalone Alarm logic and wired alarm responses run on the Konnected panel. If you enable SmartThings Home Monitor, the armed, disarmed, and panic states also mirror there. Arming or disarming either system synchronizes the armed state in both directions.

Compatible devices

The device firmware must support both the ESPHome Standalone Alarm System and Konnected Cloud.

The original 6-zone ESP8266 Alarm Panels can run Standalone Alarm System with newer ESPHome firmware, but that firmware does not support Konnected Cloud on those boards. As a result, those boards cannot expose the Standalone Alarm device to SmartThings.

If you use multiple boards, each Standalone Alarm System remains separate. Use SmartThings Home Monitor to combine sensors from multiple Konnected devices into one SmartThings-managed system.

Set up the integration

1. Update the Konnected Mobile App to version 1.6.6 or later.
2. Select the Alarm Panel in the app and tap Settings.
3. Configure the panel's input and output zones.
4. Enable and configure Standalone Alarm System.
5. Enable Konnected Cloud.
6. Save and apply the firmware update.
7. Connect SmartThings to Konnected Cloud.
8. In SmartThings, open the new Konnected Alarm device and confirm that its security-mode control matches the panel's current state.

You can rename the alarm in the Konnected settings. The updated name appears after the device synchronizes.

Set up SmartThings Home Monitor

1. In SmartThings, open Life > Home Monitor.
2. Open the settings and select Security.
3. Choose the sensors monitored by SmartThings in Away and Stay modes.
4. Configure SmartThings notifications and responses.
5. Save the Home Monitor configuration.

The Standalone Alarm System and SmartThings Home Monitor do not share one zone list. Configure Standalone monitored zones in the Konnected Mobile App and configure SmartThings monitored zones in Home Monitor.

This separation lets the Konnected panel protect its directly connected wired zones locally while SmartThings Home Monitor can include devices from elsewhere in SmartThings.

Arm and disarm

Use the security-mode control on the Konnected Alarm device or use SmartThings Home Monitor. When Home Monitor is configured, their armed and disarmed states synchronize.

Configure a siren

Configure the wired siren under Zone Settings and add it as a local Standalone Alarm Response. This keeps the siren response on the Konnected panel, where it does not depend on SmartThings or the network.

Do not configure the same siren response in both Standalone Alarm System and SmartThings Home Monitor. Duplicate response rules can make the siren's behavior difficult to understand and troubleshoot.

If the Konnected Alarm is missing

1. Confirm that both Standalone Alarm System and Konnected Cloud are enabled.
2. Confirm that you saved and applied the updated firmware.
3. In SmartThings, open Menu > Settings > Linked services > Konnected and refresh or reconnect the integration.
4. Confirm that you linked the same Konnected Cloud account used to configure the panel.
5. Check that the panel is online in the Konnected Mobile App.

If you previously enabled Standalone Alarm and later disabled it, delete the stale SmartThings alarm device and refresh the Konnected linked service. Contact Konnected Support if it continues to reappear.
