[Home Assistant](https://support.konnected.io/home-assistant?hsLang=en) # Standalone Alarm Panel with Home Assistant *Arm, disarm, and automate the alarm locally through Home Assistant's ESPHome integration.* Home Assistant connects to a Konnected Standalone Alarm System over your local network. The alarm appears as an **Alarm control panel** entity, and the wired input and output zones remain available as their own Home Assistant entities. You do not need Alarmo or Home Assistant's Manual Alarm Control Panel when one Standalone Alarm System contains all of the zones you want to protect. The arming logic, delays, zone monitoring, and wired alarm responses run on the Konnected panel. ### Before you begin - Add the Konnected device to the **Konnected Mobile App**. - Install current Konnected firmware built with ESPHome. - Configure the wired zones in **Zone Settings**. - Enable **Local Native API** in the device settings. - Enable and configure **Standalone Alarm System**. - Connect the Konnected device and Home Assistant to the same local network. **ESPHome Builder** and the Home Assistant **ESPHome integration** are different. A device configured with the Konnected Mobile App is not managed in ESPHome Builder, but it still connects to Home Assistant through the ESPHome integration. ### Add the panel to Home Assistant 1. Save the Standalone Alarm System settings and apply the firmware update in the Konnected Mobile App. 2. In Home Assistant, open **Settings \> Devices & services**. 3. Find the discovered ESPHome device and tap **Configure**. 4. Follow the prompts to add it to Home Assistant. 5. Open the new Konnected device and confirm that it contains an alarm-control-panel entity, your input sensors, and your configured outputs. If Home Assistant does not discover it automatically, add the **ESPHome** integration and enter the panel's local IP address. Do not add the deprecated Konnected Home Assistant integration for a device running the current ESPHome firmware. ### Use the alarm entity The Standalone Alarm entity lets you: - View whether the alarm is disarmed, arming, armed, pending, or triggered. - Arm in Away, Home, or Night mode when those modes are enabled. - Disarm, including entering a code when the panel requires one. - Add the alarm panel to a Home Assistant dashboard. - Use state changes in automations. The individual zone entities remain available for dashboards and automations even though the Standalone Alarm System monitors them locally. ### Trigger the alarm from Home Assistant You can call `alarm_control_panel.alarm_trigger` from an automation, script, or dashboard action. For example, you can use a wireless or third-party Home Assistant sensor to start the Standalone Alarm System's entry delay. The panel respects its configured entry delay when it receives this action, then triggers its locally configured alarm responses if you do not disarm it before the delay expires. ``` action: alarm_control_panel.alarm_trigger target: entity_id: - alarm_control_panel.alarm_panel_pro_xxxxxx_konnected_alarm ``` Replace the example entity ID with your Standalone Alarm entity. To trigger the action from a Home Assistant sensor, create an automation with the sensor's active state as the trigger and use the action above. Test the automation while you are present, then confirm that the alarm enters the pending state, observes the configured entry delay, and activates the expected local response. A Home Assistant sensor or action used this way depends on Home Assistant and the network to send the trigger. It does not become a local wired zone on the panel. Wired zones connected directly to the Konnected panel continue to use local alarm logic if Home Assistant is unavailable. ### Use multiple Konnected panels Each physical board creates a separate Standalone Alarm entity. The boards do not combine into one Standalone Alarm System. If you want two independently protected areas, you can enable Standalone Alarm System on each board and use a Home Assistant automation to arm or disarm them together. If you need zones from multiple boards to behave as one alarm system, use Home Assistant's Manual Alarm Control Panel or Alarmo as the controller instead of relying on the per-board Standalone Alarm logic. ### Use Home Assistant with SmartThings You can connect the same supported panel locally to Home Assistant and through Konnected Cloud to SmartThings. Enable both **Local Native API** and **Konnected Cloud**. When Standalone Alarm System is configured, armed and disarmed state can synchronize between Home Assistant and SmartThings. ### If the alarm entity is missing 1. Confirm that **Standalone Alarm System** is enabled in the Konnected Mobile App. 2. Save and apply the firmware build after enabling it. 3. Confirm that **Local Native API** is enabled. 4. Open the panel's local web page and confirm that the device is online. 5. Reload the ESPHome integration or restart the panel, then check the Konnected device in Home Assistant again. Configure monitored zones, trigger modes, codes, delays, and wired alarm responses in the Konnected Mobile App, not in Home Assistant.
